Things to Ponder

Assalamualaikum

One day while Pak Pandir was walking on the street he saw one tiny thing. It looks like a shit. He took the thing and try to figure out what it is actually. To be more certain, Pak Pandir smell the 'thing'. It smells bad. Still not satisfy, he tasted it."Ohh, shit. This is shit", said Pak Pandir. "Lucky I didn't step on it!"

This story was told by my collegue few days ago. Pak Pandir is a character in Malay folk story. He is a stupid and funny man. While we were laughing at him, are we doing the same thing?

How many fo us today doing thing that we know it is not right but do it just for the sake of doing it. We might force by our management, surrounding, peers pressure and so on and so forth..

While Pak Pandir was not sure the 'thing' is a shit we are so sure it is shit but yet we are not just taste it but chew it and swallow it. Now, who are more stupid? Is it Pak Pandir or ourselves? While Pak Pandir eventually realize his mistake, what about us? Are we realize it or just shut one eye and let it be as it is.

There was always a morale from folk story isn't it? And still relevant eventhough it was told hundred years ago. So, will we behave better than Pak Pandir afterwards?

and god knows better..
